Reading Response

Text Type -Novel

Text Title - Tomorrow When The War Began

Author - John Marsden

This text is about teens who organised going on a camping trip unaware of the things happening in their hometown Wirrawee. The place they decided to settle was “HELL”, which was a secret camping spot they found when hiking along Taylor’s stitch. As they start off enjoying themselves having fun times and bad times, for example a snake was in one of the teens sleeping bags making everyone freak out.  After a few days they suddenly heard aircraft flying above them making them curious and confused.

A key message that I learnt was to expect the unexpected and don't take things for granted. Things can take a turn just like that, for example you never know what will happen in the future.

Homer because he showed leadership even though he was pranking people and one of the noughties kids in school but as the book progressed he showed leadership, he knew how to think fast in times of crisis and helped his friend when needed, and he also sounds like a very funny guy.

This story made me think that something can happen out of nowhere like in Ukraine, “who knew that Russia would start a war with them?”

I would recommend this story because it has a very good story line and a lot of unexpecting

Because it starts off being a normal teen life then into something very unexpecting. parts like Ellie blowing up 2 people and Kevin and Corrie having a root near their friends.

Hell

Here are 15 pictures of what hell would have looked like
Hell is a place where teens camped
and there are quotes that describe hell.

- Why did people call it hell? I wondered

- No place was hell no place could be hell it is people calling it hell that's the only thing that made it so.

- Maybe all my mothers stories made me think of it before you guys.

SST-North Korea and NZ Government

New Zealand Government is very different to North Korea, like North Korea having their own basketball rules, and other laws like only allowed 18 haircuts,

No foreign movies no calling anyone outside of North Korea all those laws that New Zealand doesn't have our laws make us free to be you and free to speak your voice. Voting is different as well as to North Korea as you only have one choice, to vote for Kim, people are executed if anyone vote against him.

New Zealand has a Legislature, Executive, Judiciary, the Legislature makes the law, Executive branch enforce the laws, and the Judiciary judges the law.

So it goes through three branches until the law is made.

And NZ has the best pies.

The difference between NZ and North korea is that they have a lot of different laws as I said in the first paragraph and when it comes to voting everyone is scared to vote against Kim because if you decide to vote someone other than Kim could get you executed. There was a time were Kim faked his death to see who would try and go for Supreme Leader of North Korea the killed anyone who did.

North korea and New Zealand has the same voting age that requires you to be 18 or over this law was changes from 21 to 18 years old in 1971.

both countries have one person representing the country and both countries allow teenages to drink at the age of 18 year old.

Goals for 2022 for SST

  1. One piece of advice for myself this year is….

To not get off task and do my work.

  1. One thing I was proud of from last year is…

That I done a lot of hard work last year and finished a lot of my work

  1. My main focus this term is to…

Stay on task

  1. When I need help I know to…

Ask the teacher or my friends for help.

  1. At the end of this term, I want to be able to say that I achieved my goal of…

Getting achieved or excellence

  1. These are my action steps to help me get there…

Stay on task

Do my work

And bring my Chromebook fully charged.
